Miss Blakely Goldberg

Fall 2020 will begin my fifth year teaching as a special educator and my first year at Washington Intermediate. My inspiration to teach came from my own personal learning struggles as a student. One of my strengths with students is my ability to connect with kids by gaining their trust and respect. Once I have established a bond, I have been able to show them a different learning experience that works best for their own personal success. The reason I chose the profession of teaching is to show kids a different perspective of the school, teachers, and life. I want to help each student achieve whatever it is they want and in doing so, I make myself available for any obstacles they may encounter academically or socially. My favorite part of working with students is how much they make me laugh. Kids usually have a different perspective on life than adults and it is always humbling to hear their viewpoints. I also enjoy how quick-witted they are; you can't get many things passed them. The best advice I can give any student is to believe in yourself. If I can do it, you can do it. Know you are smart; know you can do whatever it is you want to do. You may learn different, your path may be different, but it is your life, so enjoy it and make it count.
